The Rheumatology service at Victoria Hospital Wimborne, Dorset, is committed to providing outstanding care, support, and treatment to a wide range of patients with inflammatory arthritis. Due to the upcoming maternity leave of our Lead Rheumatology Practitioner, we require an experienced practitioner in rheumatology to offer maternity cover on a secondment / fixed term basis until April 2019. This may be extended or a similar position offered after such time.
As an advanced rheumatology practitioner you will work closely with the wider members of the multi-professional team but predominantly you will work autonomously, in a clinical role. You will be responsible for running the practitioner-led follow-up service and the clinical duties associated with this. The applicant will provide clinic appointments assessing rheumatologic conditions, educating and supporting patients with regards to their condition and initiating treatment pathways incorporating best practice according to National Guidelines.
The applicant will need to be a registered physiotherapist, podiatrist, nurse or occupational therapist registered with HCPC or NMC. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be flexible, organised and able to work autonomously with limited supervision from the rheumatology consultant.
The cover position is for 11 hours per week spread over 2 days but must include a Tuesday morning. Please read the job description for full details.
