Dorset HealthCare is the first mental health trust providing community services in the South to be given an Outstanding rating by the care quality commission (CQC) – and one of only a small handful nationally.

We like to invite you to apply for a Peripatetic Specialty Grade Doctor in Psychiatrist to provide clinical input to medical vacancies within the Trusts General Adult and Old Age Mental Health Services.

This post is being advertised as full-time (10 PA) exact responsibilities will vary depending on organisational need, but may involve managing patients and outpatients settings. The post holder will take part in multi-disciplinary case conferences and reviews as required by the clients' clinical needs and the Trusts operational needs and will participate in the middle grade on call rota in the east of the county, which attract the appropriate allowances, reporting to the consultant and supported by a core trainee.

The successful candidate will initially be based within the Old Peoples CMHT team at Oakley House in Wimborne working with consultant colleagues. These multi-disciplinary teams provide a comprehensive service for elderly mentally ill people living in the Wimborne & Purbeck/Ferndown & West Moors areas.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of £40 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments.
