An exciting opportunity has arisen within the endoscopy unit at Wimborne Hospital, giving successful candidates the chance to expand their skills within a specialised environment.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Endoscopy nursing assistant to join our friendly team at Victoria Hospital, Wimborne.
Some key components of this role include:
• Assisting the trained nurse in procedure room and recovery areas
• Assisting in maintaining stock levels and ordering equipment
• This role involves the decontamination and maintenance of all endoscopy scopes, the traceability and documentation of decontamination procedure and the reporting and returning of faulty endoscopic equipment.
Our Endoscopy Services are JAG accredited. We provide the following range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including; Upper and Lower GI Endoscopy – (Gastroscopy and Flexible Sigmoidoscopies) and flexible cystoscopies. We also have Bowel Scope lists as part of the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme.
The department is currently open from 08:00-18:00 Monday to Friday.
Part of the requirement is that you are available to work within a rota system in order to meet service delivery. Previous experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Please note, as part of this role you will be required to undertake the Care Certificate as part of your induction. The Care Certificate aims to ensure all staff are caring, compassionate and provide quality care in their work and it is therefore expected that you successfully complete all aspects of the Care Certificate to work in this position.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
