This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Leg Ulcer Team as the Leg Ulcer Service expands and develops across Dorset.

The service currently needs a Band 5 Staff Nurse for 15 hours per week, Monday and Thursday to work at Littlemoor Health Centre in Weymouth.

You will be responsible for:

- Providing evidence based professional advice on all aspects of Leg Ulcer Management to patients   and their carers
- Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating evidence based nursing care.
- Delivering evidence based leg ulcer management within Trust, in accordance with Policies and guidelines.

You should have the ability to:

Demonstrate evidence based clinical knowledge and skills underpinning the aetiology and management of leg ulcer patients.

Demonstrate principles of wound healing and wound management.

Communicate effectively with patients and carers.

Employment in this post requires a Standard/Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.  The DBS levies a charge of £26/£44 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments.  This will only apply to candidates who are new to the Trust and not internal staff.

Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service and are able to present a valid DBS certificate will not incur a charge.
