At Dorset Healthcare our aim is to be an innovative and responsive provider, delivering high quality integrated care to make a positive difference to the health, well-being and independence of the people in Dorset.

Within Purbeck Community Mental Health Team, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Community Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker working four days per week. The post holder will work as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team. The team is made up of Psychiatrists, Nurses, Social Workers, Admin and Support Time Recovery Worker.

The role involves you being a dedicated care-coordinator to a caseload of services users that are experiencing a Serious Mental Illness and the role of duty worker is also an expected part of this role.  If you have experience in care-coordination and you are looking for a challenging, varied and rewarding job we would welcome you to come and meet us and apply for this job within this small, flexible and well known supportive team.

You will be a committed, dynamic, motivated professional with excellent communication, organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your work. You should have recent experience of working in a mental health environment; you will be able to apply the philosophies of engagement and recovery in your work with service users.   A basic level of IT literacy is an essential requirement.

The team is based within the East Dorset Locality; the post holder will need to have the ability to travel by car as they will be required to assess and monitor patients in their own homes and within other community settings.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of £44 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments. This will only apply to candidates who are new to the Trust and not internal staff. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service and are able to present a valid DBS certificate will not incur a charge.

Interviews will take place on 7th August.
