An exciting opportunity has arisen within Dorset HealthCare for a dynamic Long Term Conditions Lead to join our Southampton Steps to Wellbeing (IAPT) service. Dorset HealthCare’s Steps to Wellbeing services are some of the country’s leading Improving Access to Psychological Therapy services, and this would be a great opportunity for an experienced clinician with excellent clinical leadership and project management skills to take this new programme forward.

The Southampton Steps to Wellbeing service is a high performing, high volume service with a dedicated team of clinicians and administrators working across Southampton City.

You will be joining the current IAPT team at an exciting time of development; as part of the Five Year Forward View, the service will be expanding to work with people who have Long Term Health Conditions. The service has also recently expanded its provision of an integrated employment service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for taking forward the national Long Term Conditions programme; integrating IAPT with the local primary care and long term conditions pathways in the city of Southampton.

The successful candidate will need to be able to build strong relationships with stakeholders across a range of providers, including both acute hospitals and community and GP providers, and third sector organisations  and ensure that the service continues to adhere to a number of challenging targets whilst maintaining the highest quality care for our patients.

You will be well supported within a team of experienced clinicians and managers and be part of the IAPT leadership team within the Directorate of Mental Health and Learning Disabilities.

The successful candidate would be expected to provide a limited caseload offering complex assessment, psychological therapy, advice and consultation on case management.  Therefore we are looking for a candidate who is professionally accredited with training to post graduate level.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.  The DBS levies a charge of £44 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments. This will only apply to candidates who are new to the Trust and not internal staff.
