The North Dorset Community Mental Health teams are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and self- directed individual to this exciting new post.
You will work with service users with enduring mental health problems to gain competitive paid employment using the Individual Placement Support model.
This is an opportunity to work in an innovative way which is proven to result in remarkable outcomes for users of Adult Mental Health services.
You will be expected to develop relationships with local employers to secure employment opportunities and subsequently provide on-going support according to employees and employer's needs.
Support and training will be jointly provided by the CMHT and Dorset Mental Health Forum, but the post holder is required to take responsibility for autonomous planning of their workload, using initiative in order to deliver performance targets, without direct supervision.
You will be based in Sherborne and required to work across the North Dorset locality.
In return we can also offer you:
- A comprehensive and structured induction programme and training
- NHS pension scheme
- Holiday pay up to 33 days, plus bank holidays pro rata, dependent on NHS service
- NHS discount and salary sacrifice scheme
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of £44 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments. This will only apply to candidates who are new to the Trust and not internal staff. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service and are able to present a valid DBS certificate will not incur a charge.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
