Shaftesbury is set high on the edge of the Blackmore Vale in Dorset and is within commuting distance of the Jurassic Coast and vibrant coastal towns of Bournemouth and Poole.

The Shaftesbury Integrated Community rehab team (ICRT) are looking for a creative and dynamic Physiotherapist to join their friendly and dynamic team. The role is primarily community based, but there may be opportunities for some inpatient working within the Community Hospital.

Shaftesbury ICRT is a forward thinking and innovative team who are currently leading development of the multidisciplinary Community Hub at the Westminster Memorial Hospital. There is a drive within the trust to make community services more accessible to patients, and to provide a sound multi-disciplinary approach to how care services and clinical support are provided to local residents. As part of the role, the Physiotherapist is involved in shaping and developing this service to ensure the rehabilitation needs of the community is met. They will be expected to take part in multi-agency meetings to discuss patients on the community “Virtual Ward”. We are also looking to improve working relationships with the local acute hospitals to develop strategies to facilitate safe and timely discharge of patients back to their homes.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience in rapid response visits, undertake assessment of patients who have complex acute and rehab needs alongside management of long term conditions and provide rehabilitation programmes.

You will also have the opportunity to supervise your colleagues and less experienced staff, as well as supporting the team leader in developing the service and ensuring quality.

Employment in this post requires a Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of £44 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments. This will only apply to candidates who are new to the Trust and not internal staff.

Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service and are able to present a valid DBS certificate will not incur a charge.
