Dorset Healthcare is currently looking for two part time Buyers to fill a job share position. The team are flexible with the hours split however, additional hours will be required to cover holidays or sickness.
This is an exciting opportunity to working in a growing and progressive procurement team. The function is changing and this is the right time to join the business and be part of the turnaround. You will work in a fast paced commercial function and you'll be responsible for procuring the right products and the right price on time for the customers within the departments. We are fundamentally looking for people with a, " can do", positive attitude, who can make change and put customers at the heart of everything we do.
You will be accountable and responsible for
- Undertaking the processing of purchase requisitions and placement of purchase orders for the Trust and its customers.
- Providing a customer service role to internal customers including providing timely advice on product availability, expediting of purchase orders placed and assisting with resolution of queries regarding product availability, pricing and associated matters relating to product supply.
- Undertaking associated administration and rectification of queries/discrepancies that arise.
You will have a good standard of education in English & mathematics.
You will possess:
Some buying experience
Experience of working in a customer service environment
Commercial acumen and negotiation skills
Strong communication and influencing skills
Team working and effective people management
Relationship building; Customers and colleagues
Experience of analysing data (ideally procurement data)
Experience of working in similar environment of stock control, warehousing order processing and follow up
Good knowledge of Microsoft systems/applications
Good attention to detail
Ability to work using your own initiative
A willingness to be flexible team player and to be prepared to cover other areas to your normal responsibilities at times of holiday or sickness is essential.
