Dorset is renowned for its quality of living, picturesque countryside and its famous Jurassic Coastline. You could improve your quality of life by combining these benefits with working for a transformational organisation.
At Dorset Healthcare our aim is to be an innovative and responsive provider, delivering high quality integrated care to make a positive difference to the health, well-being and independence of the people in Dorset.
Do you want to be part of a forward thinking, dynamic, friendly innovative team? If the answer is yes, we have the job for you.
Within the Poole Older Persons Community Mental Health Team, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist working four days per week. The post holder will work as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team. The team is made up of Psychiatrists, Nurses, Social Workers, Admin and Support Time Recovery Worker.
You will be a committed, dynamic, motivated professional with excellent communication, organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your work. You should have recent experience of working in a mental health environment, awareness of ill health and the ageing process. A basic level of IT literacy, is an essential requirement.
As a key member of the team you will find the experience challenging, rewarding and varied. There is an active local group of OT’s working in older adults that meet bi-monthly for CPD development. There is also a CMHT OT clinical supervision group.
The team is based within the East Dorset Locality; the post holder will need to have the ability to travel by car as they will be required to assess and monitor patients in their own homes and within other community settings.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of £44 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments. This will only apply to candidates who are new to the Trust and not internal staff.
Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service and are able to present a valid DBS certificate will not incur a charge.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
