Dorset HealthCare is looking for a new Medical Director to replace Nick Kosky who is retiring. This is a real opportunity for a medical leader to make their mark on the shaping of the future provision of healthcare in Dorset.

Dorset HealthCare is very well placed to use the strength of our clinical relationships with GPs, acute hospitals and the local authorities to transform the way in which care is delivered and to achieve excellence in our clinical services. The Medical Director will be a key player in ensuring that services in Dorset are genuinely clinically led and in the development and deployment of the Dorset clinical workforce.

Working very closely with the Director of Nursing and Quality, the Medical Director will ensure that the Trust Board, and all of our teams, are continually focussed on delivering the very best quality clinical services.

The Medical Director can be from any clinical background as they will have to have clinical credibility in a wide range of health care settings across Dorset, but they will also need to quickly establish credibility with the medical and all other clinical professions in Dorset Healthcare and beyond.

Dorset HealthCare is part of one of the first eight national Accountable Care System pilots and the Trust also intends to be an exemplar in the delivery of genuinely integrated physical and mental health care services, for people of all ages.
