Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to offer the opportunity of an apprenticeship within our Learning & Development department based at our headquarters, Sentinel House in Poole.

The successful candidate will undertake an apprenticeship in Business and Administration.

The Learning and Development department is responsible for the planning, delivery and reporting of training and learning opportunities for more than 5000 employees across the Trust. The role has been designed to allow you to develop and experience a broad and varied range of activities including:

  • Supporting with projects and events
  • Co-ordinating meetings for the team
  • Working with the whole Learning and Development Service
  • Producing Learning and Development reports
  • A selection of Learning and Development activities

You will be a valued member of our busy and friendly administration team and assist in the effective and smooth running of our Learning & Development Services, maintaining excellent working relationships through effective communication.

Apprenticeships are a fantastic pathway to start a career as well as obtain a nationally recognised qualification.

Entry Requirements You will need to have a minimum of Mathematics GCSE grade D or above (or equivalent) and English GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) and will need to demonstrate an interest in Business and Administration. You are eligible to apply for this post if you are living in England and are not taking part in full-time education, you are 16 or over and do not hold a Level 4 or higher qualification in the same area.

Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust will provide:

A dedicated mentor to support you through your apprenticeship, providing support and advice within the workplace, as well as helping you manage the balance of work and apprenticeship studies.

You will have the opportunity to develop personally and professionally and will be encouraged to attend our in-house training courses and shadow colleagues from other services. There may be further opportunities depending on your interests and strengths.
