Want to be part of the new NHS? Health and Care organisations in Dorset are at the forefront of transforming services to provide excellent, patient-centred care.
Dorset HealthCare recently achieved an Outstanding CQC status and is a dynamic forward-thinking Trust operating throughout Dorset.
Dorset HealthCare plays a pivotal role in the strong partnership of public sector organisations across Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole. Our community and mental health trust has a caring and committed workforce of around 5,500 staff, serving a population of over 700,000 people.
We are looking for proactive, positive, respectful, supportive, reliable and trustworthy people to join us at Dorset HealthCare – we’re the biggest provider of healthcare in Dorset and offer exciting opportunities for people with a range of skills. We want to be better every day – do you?
‘This is an exciting time for us as we continue improving and adapting. I have seen some great innovation, fantastic teamwork and a real willingness to look at how we can do things differently’ – Eugine Yafele, Chief Executive (May 2019)
Deputy Director of People and Culture
We are looking for an exceptional person to join our newly created People and Culture directorate. Dorset HealthCare is a progressive organisation and our vision is to be Better Every Day. We are ambitious and committed to continually improving in all we do.
The Deputy Director for People and Culture is an important role for us. You will be working with the Director for People and Culture and senior team to bring together all of the components of the people experience at Dorset HealthCare, supporting a culture that is empowering, compassionate and open.
Message from Nicola Plumb, Executive Director for People and Culture:
"My ambition is for us to be the best possible employer with a culture that empowers people to be the best they can be, that encourages people to act with compassion, and that nurtures openness and transparency as ‘the way things are around here’.
"The successful candidate will be proactive, driven and committed, with considerable understanding and experience of delivering the highest standard of people services. Working closely with me and the senior leadership team they will operate at a senior strategic level and will continue to shape our modern employment culture and people experience.
"You will provide visible, credible and effective leadership to the Trust in all aspects of people management, acting as a role model and a champion for the Trust’s values.
"Previous NHS experience is not essential. Being CIPD registered, you will bring with you a track-record of success at a senior level in a HR/OD function in a complex organisation, demonstrating your aptitude to work with complexity and manage the competing demands of this type of role.
"In return, I can assure you that your role as Deputy Director of People and Culture will enable you to fulfil a leading role in the development of the Directorate, working with highly committed and skilled teams at all levels. If you aspire to be a Director in the future, I will support you to continue to work towards that and make sure you have access to high quality personal and professional development opportunities.
"I look forward to talking to you"
