Have you considered a career in forensic mental health? Would you like to be part of a fast developing inpatient and community forensic service?

Male applicants only.

Twynham Ward is a 12-bedded male, low secure unit providing intensive and comprehensive care to patients who are detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).

  • We are currently looking for Male applicants only, due to the needs of the male to female ratio on the ward.

We are a progressive and forward thinking team, working in partnership with Dorset Forensic Team to provide seamless re-integration back into the community. This is an exciting time to join a developing multi-disciplinary service which provides excellent opportunities for personal development, coupled with a forensic-specific induction and education program.

Working alongside all disciplines of staff you will be pro-active in delivering care to our patient group and will be motivated and enthusiastic to develop your personal skills in forensic nursing. You will be responsive and adaptive to patient needs whilst maintaining clear boundaries and consistencies within the team. You will work closely with, and under the guidance of, registered nurses and other disciplines.

  • You will be required to undertake a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course and it is a condition of your employment that you successfully complete all aspects of this course; if this is not achieved you will not be able to commence working in the post.
  • Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
