At Dorset Healthcare we pride ourselves on the Dementia Health services we provide to our patients and their families.

Older People's Mental Health Services in Poole, Dorset are expanding their team of specialist nurses to continue the quality care we offer to our patients and to be an integral part of the developments in Dementia Health.

Based with in-patient services the posts are open to rotation with our community services, allowing the post-holders to gain valuable experience and skills across the whole field of Dementia Health.

Our award-wining innovative community services are well-resourced and developing in line with the National Dementia Strategy.

Community services such as the Intermediate Care Service for Dementia and In-Reach Team support all the Organic In-Patient wards, Community Hospitals and residential (nursing and care) homes across the county. In-Patient Ward services operate as Practice Development Units and are also supported by the Kings Fund and Health Education Wessex initiatives.

The services have strong links with local Universities and are involved in the improvement of their portfolios of care across all the teams.

Employment in this post requires a Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of £44 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service or are able to present a valid portable DBS certificate will not incur a charge.

You will be required to undertake a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course and it is a condition of your employment that you successfully complete all aspects of this course; if this is not achieved you will not be able to commence working in the post.
