This is a new and exciting opportunity for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join a multidisciplinary Crisis Team for East Dorset. This is a new role that has been developed to complement the nursing skills in the team. The role will be to work as a practitioner with enhanced skills as well as helping to continue the development of the service.
The Crisis Home Treatment Team (CHTT) offer an alternative to hospital admission for service users with a variety of mental health problems in crisis. The service offers 24/7 support and treatment in the community across the East of Dorset. The team work with a number of support services including the Acute Day Service and the Recovery House to provide community based care.
As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner you will join a dynamic multidisciplinary team of mental health nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, medical staff and peer specialists. This mix of professionals enables a holistic and effective care to be offered to the service users under CHTT care.
Practitioners work shifts within a twenty four hour rota system. The role includes assessing service users in a variety of settings for treatment and working with them using a range of therapeutic interventions. The team is community based and requires the practitioner to have a full UK driving licence, pool cars are provided for travel to clinical work.

Specialist training continues to be developed and offered for all disciplines within the team and this post is an opportunity for you to expand your knowledge, skills and continued professional development within acute mental health.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of £44 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
