This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Nurse or Social Worker to become a Community Mental Health Practitioner in a service which is currently undergoing remodelling.
The Crisis Home Treatment Team (CHTT) offers an alternative to hospital admission for service users with a variety of mental health problems in crisis. The service offers 24/7 support and treatment in the community across the East of Dorset. The team works with a number of support services including the Acute Day Service and the Recovery House to provide community based care.
As a Community Mental Health Practitioner you will join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team of mental health nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, medical staff and peer specialists. This mix of professionals enables holistic and effective care to be offered to the service users under CHTT care.
Practitioners work shifts within a twenty four hour rota system. The role includes assessing service users in a variety of settings for treatment and working with them using a range of therapeutic interventions. The team is community based and requires the practitioner to have a full UK driving licence, pool cars are provided for travel for clinical work purposes.
If you are an experienced band 5 looking to develop your career into a band 6 position, and would like to be part of the exciting changes within our team, we would also welcome an application from you.
Continued training and education is a key aim and objective at Dorset HealthCare and the CHTT service embraces this. CHTT offers continuous development for all our practitioners, both from existing clinical staff and from the medical staff within the team. Specialist training continues to be developed and offered for all disciplines within the team. This post is an opportunity for you to expand upon your knowledge, skills and continued professional development within acute mental health and play an active part in the remodelling of the service.
