The Service provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment and support for Adults who are experiencing a range of mental health problems. The Team provide a holistic recovery focused approach to care and work in line with the Care Programme Approach supporting a clientele form a varied conurbation. This is reflected in the diversity of needs of our service users and carers.
The CMHT is an integrated multi-disciplinary team of health and social care staff including Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers, Medical Staff, Occupational Therapist, administration staff and supported by the Psychology department. We work closely with the third sector and other services in the local health and social care community to provide appropriate care and support to help address individual’s needs.
You will be based at Alderney Hospital and work in the local community area. You will work in support of the Team Leader, team members, students and Service Manager. You will have a key role and gain skills in completing initial assessments and providing follow up support.
You will have demonstrable clinical skills and a strong sense of initiative, ‘can do attitude’, excellent team working ability and be an excellent communicator. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of high level mental health nursing interventions, community assessment skills, safeguarding procedures and varied interventions which support this group of clients.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of £44 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments. This will only apply to candidates who are new to the Trust and not internal staff.
Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service and are able to present a valid DBS certificate will not incur a charge.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
