An exciting opportunity has arisen within Dorset HealthCare for an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Psychologist to join our Community Adult Asperger's Service (CAAS).The team provides a multi-professional specialist service for adults with Asperger's Syndrome (including High Functioning Autism) across the county of Dorset. The team provides a comprehensive range of services to include; diagnosis and assessment of Asperger's, consultancy to existing teams on support and treatment, advice and signposting, direct individual treatment for some complex cases, and a rolling programme of training for professionals.

The successful applicant will be involved in completing triage assessments for new referrals, managing the database, completing specialist Theory of Mind assessments, audit, and the possibility of completing some therapeutic work with individuals and groups. They will also have a key role in contributing to the weekly MDT and consultations to other professionals.

The successful candidate will be required to be flexible in terms of willingness to travel as appointments are conducted across the County. There will be a particular focus on working in the East Dorset region.

It is essential that you have a Single Honours in Psychology at a 2:1 or higher from an accredited university. A good working knowledge, and experience of working with Autism Spectrum Conditions is highly desirable.
