The Learning Disability Service in Dorset HealthCare NHS Foundation Trust is staffed by a passionate and dedicated team and is looking for a like-minded individual to join us. This is an exciting new role within the Ferndown CLDT and an excellent opportunity to work within the challenging yet rewarding field of community learning disability healthcare.
Working full time (37.5hrs per week, Monday to Friday) the successful candidate will already have experience of working in health, social care or special educational settings. The role will involve working within a multi-disciplinary health and social care team to support people with learning disabilities to live successfully in the community. You will be committed to improving the quality of life for our service users and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

The wider East Dorset Integrated Community Learning Disabilities Team provides services in both urban and rural areas and will offer the successful candidate an opportunity to develop their skills by serving this diverse population. East Dorset CLDT covers three areas – Christchurch, Ferndown and Purbeck. The post holder will be based at the Ferndown Office but may be required to work across sites if a specific need arises.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of £44 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments. This will only apply to candidates who are new to the Trust and not internal staff. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service and are able to present a valid DBS certificate will not incur a charge.
