An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Healthcare Assistant to join the District Nursing Teams covering the GP surgeries in Ferndown. Based at the Ferndown Medical Centre you will be responsible for providing nursing care to housebound patients.
The role of the Healthcare Assistant is a vital role to support the ongoing work of the Community Nurses and Community Nursing Sisters. Clinical skills required for this post would be venepuncture, basic wound management, continence assessments however full raining is available within the Trust. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to undertake an advanced role through Dorset Healthcare extended skills programme including being able to given routine injections, catheterisation and advanced wound care.
If you are looking for a change and want to work more autonomously in a challenging environment, then the community could be for you. The staff work, closely with members of the wider multi-disciplinary teams including local Hospices, Complex Care Nurses, Health and Social Care Coordinators, Specialist Nurses and Therapist colleagues. The team is also supported by Intermediate Care Service and utilises our community hospitals for patients’ rehabilitation.
