If you’re looking for work that suits your lifestyle and needs, becoming a Dorset HealthCare Bank worker could be right up your street.
The Trust Bank aims to ensure that wards, departments and community teams across the Trust are always properly staffed, by providing a pool of ‘Bank’ workers to call on who want extra shifts or temporary work.
Who are Bank workers?
Bank workers can work flexibly to fill a temporary vacancy or short-term staffing shortages. They may be required to work at any time, with just a few days, or hours, notice.
Bank working could be your main way of working or a secondary role - we have hundreds of Bank workers who have substantive posts within Dorset HealthCare services too.
Benefits of Joining the Bank
The Bank system offers the flexibility to work just now and then or for longer, full-time bookings – whatever’s right for you. It offers a wide range of roles in a variety of locations throughout Dorset.
You can choose the location and shift patterns that are right for you and you won’t be tied into contracted hours, so you can work to suit your family and other commitments.
As well as competitive pay rates, you’ll be eligible for many of the benefits of permanent staff, including:
- Opportunities to gain experience within a variety of specialist teams
- Access to the NHS pension scheme
- An NHS badge entitling you to many NHS benefits
- Unsocial hours enhancements (where applicable)
- Paid annual leave as a percentage of work completed
- Your choice of either monthly or weekly pay
- Holiday pay
- Induction and mandatory training.
Salary per hour: £7.87 to £9.28 (Band 2) £8.67 to £10.15 (Band 3)
The Bank provides comprehensive support, from recruitment to booking your first shift. You will be given a comprehensive induction and training mandatory to the role.
Dorset HealthCare also uses electronic rostering, which gives you even more freedom to work when it suits you. As long as you have an internet connection, you can access the system on a PC, smart phone or tablet.
So if you are a Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker there has never been a better time to join our team.
