An exciting opportunity has come up to join the Occupational Health and Wellbeing team at Dorset Healthcare and support the implementation of our Health and Wellbeing strategy for our staff.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Specialist Physiotherapist to help to deliver our action plan to improve the wellbeing of our staff.
For many years the department have utilised the services of an agency Occupational Health Physiotherapist who is now retiring. To improve our offering to staff we are introducing a Physiotherapy role to the Occupational Health team, to provide support and advice to staff.
This is a proactive role which will focus on reducing Musculoskeletal (MSK) problems in work. You will use highly specialist knowledge in educating staff about the prevention of MSK conditions. You will devise appropriate interventions that will take place in a range of settings and provide specialist physiotherapy fitness assessments and treatment interventions in the prevention of Musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions for staff.
You will focus on areas with high levels of sickness particularly in relation to Musculoskeletal disorders and work with the multi-disciplinary team to create initiatives to support staff. You will also work in collaboration with the Assistant Director Health and Wellbeing, occupational health clinical nurse manager, Lead Moving and Handling Advisor and other multi-disciplinary team members to ensure the best and most focused support is being delivered to staff.
You will be approachable, proactive and able to articulate the benefits of physiotherapy, self-care, fitness and well-being to a wide range of individuals.
We will also consider physiotherapists who have not had experience in occupational health but are willing to learn on the job and we will support completion of the RSCP OH Modules, developed by ACPOHE as the role develops.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of £40 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments. This will only apply to candidates who are new to the Trust and not internal staff.
Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service and are able to present a valid DBS certificate will not incur a charge.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
