This is an exciting opportunity for a health visitor / school nurse to enhance their knowledge and skills in safeguarding children processes and to develop their career in this specialist area of practice in a supportive environment.

You will work collaboratively within the Safeguarding Children Team in the delivery of the safeguarding children and domestic abuse agenda in Dorset HealthCare. You will work closely with Health Visiting, School Nursing and other services, to provide peer support with safeguarding roles and responsibilities. In addition, you will be able develop specialist knowledge in domestic abuse and will be the lead for the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences for Domestic Violence (MARAC) within the Trust.

This will involve the assessment of risk and identification of actions to help mitigate the risks in cases where individuals are at high risk of domestic abuse. You will also have the opportunity to provide safeguarding training to Trust staff.

You must have relevant post-qualifying experience in health visiting or school nursing practice and have recent experience of safeguarding/child protection practice and multi-agency working.

Employment in this post requires a Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.  The DBS levies a charge of £44 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments.  This will only apply to candidates who are new to the Trust and not internal staff.
