An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our dynamic infection prevention and control team, covering Dorset community mental health and in-patient services, working 30 hours per week.
The post holder will provide strong leadership and clinical expertise which inspires and motivates others, empowering them to ensure high standards of infection prevention and control are delivered in accordance with all Trust policies and procedures and you will support the Lead Infection Prevention and Control Nurse to strengthen the infection prevention and control contribution to patient and service user experience and safety across the Trust.
You will also contribute to the service development and implementation of national and local guidelines and policies and must be able to demonstrate professional knowledge acquired through post registration learning and have a teaching qualification.
To apply for this post you will need to have a degree level education and evidence of completing or working towards completion of further education in infection prevention. You will also have substantive experience working as a band 6 in infection prevention and control, or equivalent and evidence of strong leadership and communication skills as well as the ability to inspire and motivate your colleagues.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of £44 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments.This will only apply to candidates who are new to the Trust and not internal staff. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service or are able to present a valid portable DBS certificate will not incur a charge.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
