An  opportunity has arisen for a qualified District Nurse to manage the patient caseload and community nurse team in the Dorchester Locality.  You will be responsible for leading a team of Community Staff Nurses and Health Care Assistants to provide high quality, evidenced based nursing care to patients in their home environment.

If you do not hold the District Nurse qualification we would would consider a  Community Nursing Sister development role, however, you would be expected to have signigficant community nursing experience.  We would also expect a commitment to underakinging the Community Nursing Develepment  and accredited modules (information regarding this is attached).

The post requires excellent communication skills, flexibility with duties, strong leadership, decision making skills and clinical expertise. The post requires the successful candidate to work flexible hours including weekends and bank holidays.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.  The DBS levies a charge of £44 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments. 

This will only apply to candidates who are new to the Trust and not internal staff.  Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service and are able to present a valid DBS certificate will not incur a charge.
