The Speech and Language Therapy Service are looking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Specialist Speech and Language Therapist. The post is based partially in Swanage (0.4wte) and in Christchurch (0.6wte) and applications are welcomed from therapists who would consider full time or a job share.

You will work within these areas of Dorset to provide assessment, therapy and advice for a caseload of pre-school and school aged children. You will work with and support other Speech and Language Therapists and Speech and Language Therapy Assistants. The role will involve working within different clinics, schools, and children’s centres depending upon the needs of the caseload.

We are a friendly team who offer mentoring for new starters with ongoing clinical supervision and training opportunities. We also hold regular team meetings and management meetings.

If the successful candidate wishes to work part time then a Bank contract can also be offered if required to increase hours on a casual basis to cover maternity and long term sick leave.

Employment in this post requires a Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of £44 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments. This will only apply to candidates who are new to the Trust and not internal staff. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service and are able to present a valid DBS certificate will not incur a charge.

Interviews will be held on 11 January 2018.
