We are seeking to appoint a qualified Clinical Psychologist to join the psychology service for adults with a learning disability.

This is a part time post working 26.25 hours per week.

The successful applicant will be part of community teams working in Bridport and Dorchester. As part of community working, this may also include the Intensive Support Team (IST) working with adults who require intense and specialised input. The successful applicant will be joining well established community teams alongside skilled multi-professionals.

You will be part of a Clinical Psychology Service which specialises in learning disabilities and spans both East and West Dorset. The Psychology Team comprises 7 Clinical Psychologists as well as 3 assistant psychologists supporting their work.

There are opportunities to develop your own area of therapeutic expertise and within the service we offer various therapies; including DBT, CBT, CAT, Systemic, EMDR, SFT, amongst others.  We are affiliated to the Southampton Clinical Psychology Training Course, and there may be opportunities to teach and also to part-supervise trainees from this course.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.  The DBS levies a charge of £44 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments.  This will only apply to candidates who are new to the Trust and not internal staff.  Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service and are able to present a valid DBS certificate will not incur a charge.
