The Trust is seeking to appoint to the following vacancy:

Perinatal Consultant Psychiatrist – for 10 PA’s per week

Together with one part-time (7PA) Consultant colleague, the post holder will be responsible for providing Specialist Mental Health care to pregnant and post-natal women in Florence House, Mother and Baby Unit, based in Westbourne.

The Team provides a specialist multidisciplinary service which closely liaises with Perinatal Mental Health Community Services, Adult Community Mental Health Services, Home Treatment Teams, Adult Psychological Services, Primary Care Services, Maternity and Obstetric Services and Social Services.

The post holder will provide Consultant leadership for the Specialist Multi-disciplinary Inpatient Team and Perinatal Community Team and provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and management of issues relating to mental and physical health of women suffering with severe mental illness during pregnancy and within one year of childbirth, pregnant women with a history of psychotic or other severe illness and pre-pregnancy counselling to women referred to the Service.

Employment in this post requires a Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of £44 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments. This will only apply to candidates who are new to the Trust and not internal staff. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service and are able to present a valid DBS certificate will not incur a charge.
