An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Healthcare Assistant to join the District Nursing Team covering the GP surgeries in Blandford. Based at the Whitecliff Surgery you will be responsible for providing nursing care to housebound patients.

The role of the Healthcare Assistant is a vital role to support the on going work of the Community Nurses and Community Nursing Sister. The Trust will support any training required for this post. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to undertake an advanced role through Dorset Healthcare extended skills programme including being able to given routine injections, catheterisation and advanced wound care.

If you are looking for a change and want to work more autonomously in a challenging environment, then the community could be for you. The staff work, closely with members of the wider multi-disciplinary teams including local Hospices, Complex Care Nurses, Health and Social Care Coordinators, Specialist Nurses and Therapist colleagues. The team is also supported by Intermediate Care Service and utilises our community hospitals for patients’ rehabilitation.
