Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust is responsible for the provision of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services across the county.
Our teams offer a range of individual, family, group and pharmacological interventions depending on the needs of the child, young person and family/carers. The Trust is also part of the Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Programme (IAPT).
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CAMHS Community Practitioner to join the team covering North Dorset CAMHS. The post holder will work part time (22.5 hours per week), hold a clinical caseload, undertaking appropriate mental health assessments of children and young people referred to CAMHS and provide a range of appropriate, evidence based clinical interventions informed by assessment.
Applicants will have experience in one or more evidence based clinical interventions (e.g. CBT) have developed engagement skills and be focused on working with children/young people and their families to meet their goals. The post holder will also participate in the team duty system and may need to provide crisis support to young people and their families.
There is an expectation that you will work closely across the multi-agency networks, have excellent communication skills and an ability to build effective multi-agency relationships.
This is an exciting time to join Dorset Healthcare and be part of the development of CAMHS across the county. If you are an experienced clinician and would like to influence these developments whilst delivering direct clinical work to children, young people and families then we want to hear from you.
